this is my 150th entry.

anyway, on with my predictions of 2006...

i predicted that school was gonna be a drag till the end.
and i was RIGHT. XD
it was more of a "chor tai di" club in the last few weeks.
LOL.

i predicted that life was gonna be a smooth ride.
and i was WRONG because i fell flat on my face a dozen of times when i stepped into pot-holes. -_-"

the side effects lasted till now.
BODOH.

i predicted that it was gonna be a BOOORING holiday.
and i was PARTIALLY right/wrong because some "oomph" is missing/i'm moving out from condos FOR GOOD.

what i had this morning was NOT salad prawns.
they're like...
junk with salad.

the worst i've taken in my life.
dahlah tasteless, the prawns some more didn't clean properly.

how differences can kill you

differences doesn't only have to be the physical aspect of life.
tall, short, fat, thin, people never seem to be satisfied of who they are.
they envied other people; people whom they're not.

i can't say that i'm not like that, but i'm trying to understand wy the human behavior works that way.

i envy the relationship my sister has with my dad.
i envy my mom for knowing how to find the perfect man in her life.
i envy my dad for his perseverence and his brains.
i envy my friends who seem to always own the things that i can't have.
i envy girls who have guys that love them to bits.
i envy guys who know how to treat girls right.
i envy people who are smarter than me.

when i said kill, i didn't mean real murder.
i meant emotional and spiritual discouragement.

these are unavoidable, but what else can we do but try to be happy with what we already have?

hence:

i HAVE a good relationship with my dad.
i HOPE i know how to find the perfect man for my own life.
i AM my dad's daughter, so i should inherit at least a bit of his perseverence and brains.
i DO own certain things that my friends don't.
i DID have guys who loved me to bits.
i HAVE a little intelligence in my teeny-weeny thick skull.

and i'm thankful for all of it.

of unsurprising surprises

was out with dickson for tuition and ball-poking sessions yesterday (don't think so far) when my best friend sent me an sms aking me if i'm free for a little gossip.
i was a little surprised, she never asks me that if she has anything juicy to share.
and when i asked her who it was about, i was less than surprised.
him.
the one who couldn't swallow reality until two years past him by.
yup, thaaat fella.

anyway, what she told me was more than gossip.
a LOT more.
and frankly, it was revolting.
i wouldn't know he was capable of doing that, nor do i know what else he's capable of.
i don't think i want to know.
tsk tsk.
but here's something.

go find someone else at YOUR age preferably, you desperado on the prowl.

it's surprising when someone you think you know does something unexpected.
but when you think about it, it's hardly surprising at all.

WIFE's DIARY

Sunday night - I thought he was acting weird.
We had made plans to meet at a cafe to have some coffee.
I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment.
Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent.
I asked him what was wrong - he said, "Nothing."
I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset.
He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.
On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving.
I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love u, too."
When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore.
He just sat there and watched TV; he seemed distant and absent.
Finally I decided to go to bed.
About 10 minutes later he came to bed.
I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep.
I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep.
I don't know what to do.
I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.
My life is a disaster.

haha, it's somewhat a metaphor.
therefore, i do not expect any readers to understand it but a few who constantly reads my blog.

i just recently told a friend of mine that i hate being asked if i'm "okay".
i would be perfectly smiling and laughing at one minute, and the next minute when that question is directed to me, i'll feel like ripping your head off.
yes.
literally.

however, note that i'll be less cruel to my immediate family members, but i'll loathe the situation all the same.

the question "are you okay?" is a way to reassure people that you're fine, doing great, and etc.
what i don't understand is when people ask the question when they already knew what answer to expect.
frankly speaking, it's annoying.
thanks for the concern though.

honestly tell me, is it so hard to tell if someone is looking depressed or down?
if they're really not okay, they won't go around sporting happy faces that are freaky enough for your kids to scream, "mommy, help me! CLOOOOOWN!!!"
they won't smile from ear to ear.
they won't laugh as loud as they normally do.
all they can give you is a small, simple, or weak smile.
you would be blind if you can't see it.
and you would be dumb if you asked, "are you alright?"

being depressed as we look, i'm sure we wouldn't want to be asked that.
that would obviously remind you of what made you upset in the first place.

knowing us women, everytime we're asked, our answers are always the same:

"it's nothing."

what i'm trying to say is, when you know we're not fine, don't ask us stupid questions.
instead of helping, you're making things harder for us to swallow.
just give us a warm smile; a smile that says "i'm here for you."
that's more than enough support for us.

i was being asked that for countless of times, as far as i can remember.
recently alone was abundant.
i never really did like to answer the question, because i don't want other people to share what i'm feeling unless it's something good.

read a random blog yesterday, though that usually isn't what i normally do.
a very interesting blog i should say, i like the way she puts her feelings in words.

i had to say i wasn't that interested in it as much as my sister's fiery enthusiasm and persistance to watch it.
so, it was oblivious to all of us that she was gonna drag us out on the weekends for it.

went to midvalley megamall for the movie yesterday evening.
it wasn't really a pleasant trip at first, but i'd rather not get into the details on that.

the cinema was freaking cold.
and i really mean FREAKING COLD.
i was shivering.
can you imagine THAT?!
sad case.

however, i had my fun snapping a photo of each of my family member.

i have developed a "rounder" figure.
when i said "rounder", i really DO mean ROUNDER.
my mom said my face is round like some char siew pau.
hmph.
however, i feel a lot more confident nowadays.

a few weeks back, i was dying to try out a hot black baby doll top that my mom bought for me. (believe me, SEXY was the word for it. =D)
when i brought up the suggestion, she asked me:

the insects are on public holiday to watch the screening of casino royale

note to self: never wake up at 7 in the morning just for a pointless trip to the jungle and wet my jeans for a measly amount (about three???) of tiny insects. -_-"

when i said "wet my jeans", i didn't pee on it okay?!
i just went into the "river" (the water level is around my pergelangan kaki, and it's not a well connected river, so i guess it doesn't qualify as a REAL river. oh my god, what the hell, i don't know what i'm crapping) in bukit gasing with hopes of getting a huge dragonfly or something.
NA-DA.
disappointing betul.
tsk tsk.
i can't believe ridzwan managed to persuade me to follow him and dickson into the "river".
you're so dead when i get to you next year.

ah, finally, our insect collection is ALMOST done.
okay, so we got 25 different insects already, but i'm not satisfied!
mainly because i want BIGGER insects to add to my team's collection!
though i'm very proud of the fact that eva and cassy caught a HUGE dragonfly and a HUGE beetle!
kudos to you both! =D

bukit gasing is so disappointing lah, there were no huge insects in sight at all.

yesterday's class party was alright, but it wasn't as fun till after school!
me, voon fei, sueria, ridzwan and zhiew cheng went bug-catching in our school field.
surprisingly there were a lot of insects to catch there, mainly butterflies and moths.
the best part was getting ourselves dirty. =P
i can honestly say that it was the very first time i ran in mud, and soaked my shoes AND socks in it.
ugh.
but it was worth it lah, because the whole bunch of us caught quite a lot.
so at least my shoes are sacrificed for a worthy cause, according to kevin! =D

here's what happened to my nice, white and beautiful shoe, and my socks as well:

bloody tired and pissed

been up since 5 something in the morning when i heard my cousin woke up.
the house is never quiet when anyone's awake.
*rolls eyes*

went back to sleep and woke up at 7.30 am.
got dressed for the bug-hunting outing with the rest of the class, and waited for dickson to come pick me up.
everything was fine, got a whole loads of insects to catch (mind you, the choice of dragonflies there is marvelous)!
however, the "real" fun began when we left the rumah iklim or rumah musim or something like that, can't remember.

dickson, shafiq, john, voon fei and thiru left the group to return their loaned bicycles.
me and zhiew cheng walked ahead of the rest, and eventually got lost.
and wow, just in time for the rain too.
*rolls eyes*
we got to this rumah budaya i think, to ask for directions.
unfortunately for us, the old uncle there refused to let us know where we're supposed to go, but he was kind enough to ask us both to stay around till the heavy rain reside.
and, even unfortunately for us, the rain didn't reside, but it just got heavier.
why didn't we call for help?
simple.
there was no such thing as signal or line at where we were.
*rolls eyes again*
so we waited and waited in silence (literally) and hoped it would stop raining soon.
we were also hoping the group would be alright.
both of us were really upset about the weather and the condition we're in.
hello, we don't know where the hell we were and where the hell we should go.
according to the uncle, we're about four to five kilometers away from our destination, the entrance.
greeeeeat.
dad was getting worried as well, because the last time my handphone had signal, he messaged me and sounded very concerned about my whereabouts.
so obviously my hati tak senang lah.

and we were so tired from all the walking.

thankfully, help came when dickson arrived in his car.

but i was too bloody emo edi at that time, and was too freaking tired to say anything.

anyway, i was just as glad to see him, because it felt awkward to be around people you don't know for an hour plus in some weird place.

sinful when you have kids?

i've decided to write an entry about...
children.
yes, the cute lil' ones that run around your feet when you yell at them not to.
hmmm, devils in disguise you say? =P

when they're babies, we all tend to love them.
irresistable, i must say.
they're small, innocent and vulnerable.
sometimes, when you watch them sleep, you wish you were like them, not having to worry about anything.

but when they become teeny boppers...
about five years old or so...
when they start to know how to run and talk back at you...
ah-hah, that's when the real "fun" begins. XD

i always wondered why my dad didn't want sons.
he preferred daughters all the time.
it was classic...

me: daddy ar, why don't you want sons??? you don't want to continue your family legacy ar???
dad: ... *stares blankly behind me*
me: ...???
dad: *points to where he was looking* that is why.

so i turned...
and saw a boy clinging onto the escalator handles which elevated him from the ground.
look so darn happy some more. O_o

the best thing my father ever said to me about kids is this:

i'm gonna list down some advices that my parents (specifically, my mom) gave me, and i'm gonna tell you what that should be followed and what you can dismiss when you come across this with your own parents.

at the "darker" side of things...

ADVICE FROM MOM:
if you don't finish everything on your plate, your future husband will be ugly.

and i blab:
trash it. that's just a tactic they use to get you to finish your food. don't worry, your future spouse won't be ugly if you don't finish what you can't, but the possibilities of you blowing up is about 60%!

ADVICE FROM MOM:
don't touch that, you'll hurt yourself if you do.
and i blab:
this one is worth listening to. i know someone who ignored that, and got her hand burnt by freshly-boiled water. not a pretty sight.

ADVICE FROM MOM:
don't go to that party. i don't like the way the other guests are behaving.
and i blab:
listen to this one. no one knows better how to judge someone than your mom who has been through all of this long before you were born. but hey, if you're the rebellious one, you'd ignore this anyway. *shrugs*

ADVICE FROM MOM:
don't have a boyfriend when you're in secondary school. you won't be able to concentrate.
and i blab:
this should be judged based on your own abilities to handle your personal life. if you know you can handle it, and if you know you can prove your mom wrong... go ahead and prove it to her. believe me, if you succeed, the results are VERY rewarding and surprising at the same time.

ADVICE FROM MOM:
he's not good enough for you. you can do a lot better.

listen to this one. trust me. as i've said before, no one can judge someone like your mother. and as i've mentioned before in a past entry, when you're in love, you can't see what other people can. even if you see the negative and not-so-pretty side of him, you tend to ignore it. DON'T. i'm talking based on personal experiences here! at least consider why your mom said it.

don't keep things to yourself. when you don't like something, speak up. no one will know when you're feeling uncomfortable if you keep quiet.

miss talking to ya girl.

referring to her post "17 years of life", i too realised that i changed.
i grew a lot, i had to admit.
i evolved from a goody-goody-two-shoes into a more...
rebellious figure.
however, my "rebellious-ness" could not measure up to some of my friends lah. =P
i kalah teruk-teruk. -_-"
and as much i wanna rebel, i still have the goody-goody-two-shoe-ness in me.
dual-personality, perhaps?
but hey, when i have wings, i'd learn to fly.

as for love, i have been a very lucky girl.
i still am.
lucky enough to not get myself hurt, that is.
the possibilities of getting hurt during your teen-relationship, as you all know, is EXTREMELY high.
i'm not saying that it's impossible to have a fairytale-like relationship in your teens, but from the way our society's going, it just isn't secure enough anymore.
i won't comment about heartbreaks.
because i know i don't have the right to.

moving on to self-confidence.
being an introvert, self-confidence seemed so far away sometimes.
i worry about being not tall enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not *ahem* sexy enough, and other things like that, just like any other girl would at some point of their life.
however, as i mature (sound like i'm some auntie only), i learnt that what other people think about you is hardly even important.
BUT...
what you think of yourself is what that really matters most.
who cares if i'm not who i'm not?
when i'm loved being me, that's where i learn to love myself more.

sadly, i was younger, i was a lot less sensitive about the "transformation" process that we all go through as we grow up.
being the insensitive jerk that i was, i blamed other people for their changes which almost costed our friendship.
see how stupid and ignorant one can get.

i regretted it, and what i regretted most was not being able to apologise to my friends when i had the chance.
always remember that real friends don't pressure you to improve.

boyfriend one: the REALLY-OVER-PROTECTIVE type

they shower you with gifts (they KNOW it helps making you feel like you're the luckiest girl to have them)
they're ALWAYS early for dates (to avoid giving you the chance to talk or even SEE other guys)
they hardly turn dates down just so they could be with the guys (you weigh heavier than them because YOU get emotional)
they MUST know who you go out with and where you go (so he could stalk/track/spy/check on you to make sure there's no such hanky-panky between you and other guys)
they're usually almost-perfect boyfriends (WOULD be perfect if he didn't scare us off with his freaky antics *points to above sentence*)

boyfriend two: the KIASU type

they usually think very highly of themselves (COULD be a good thing because they might be kiasu because they scored a hot chick, who coincidently, is YOU)
they usually think they're cute/handsome/good looking/adorable AND (here's the good part!) they say so THEMSELVES loudly (COCKY!)
they usually won't admit their mistakes and would always put the blame on others if they could (kiasu whaaaaat, where can admit their weakness when they potray such a MACHO image in front of the girls? puh-leez lah)
they never give in when it comes to fights and arguements (they don't even know how to give us girls some face or even listen to our reasonings. celaka)
they HATE HATE HATE to lose (what a bunch of wimps. learn to lose gracefully lah dudes)

boyfriend three: the PUNCTUAL-DOES-NOT-EXIST type

when they say they're coming, they actually mean "in awhile more" (their "in awhile" is... i don't know, a few hours maybe?)
they also tend to cancel dates at the LAST MINUTE (by giving you lame excuses like they can't get a car or their parents don't allow them out)
once the ball starts rolling, they start cancelling dates almost every week (more often and faster than you can say "what the...?!?!?!")
they tend to cancel dates when you're already ready and all glammed up for HIM (note to guys: we girls hate that. don't think you're such a good boyfriend because this alone make you look worthless. in other words: JERK!)
obviously, they're ALWAYS late for... well, everything! (sad case)

boyfriend four: the HOT-HUNK type

they're always the centre of attention (cute guys are like flowers with nectar. nectar-ed flowers = more bees. more bees = more problems. more problems = more worries. more worries = less sleep. less sleep = panda eyes. you get the idea)
they're usually very gentlemenly, and they know how to treat a girl right (this, my dear boys, we girls LOVE)
they're awfully nice to look at ("eye-candy" perhaps, is the better word)

they're extremely silent, sometimes it feels as if they're NOT there (invisible man...)
they're usually quite sensitive, and they're aware of other people's feelings (not like the KIASU type. celakas)
getting them to talk is like teaching a baby to say "i want this toy and if you don't give it to me i'll cry till the whole world is watching you" (okay lah, it ain't THAT bad, but it is hard to get them to open up at first)
they're excellent listeners (they'll let you talk all you want and they actually listen to you attentively)
they're usually very very sweet in their own ways (they can come up with the most romantic ideas that you'll NEVER expect to come from them)

this one's pretty interesting, because i'm pretty much fascinated by the evolution of living organisms.

when school was out, went straight out to get to mom's car.
the moment i went in, her voice boomed out to me:

school, without a doubt, is the most time-consuming/time-wasting thing i've ever experienced.
nowadays, it's a real dread to go to school.
i hate hate hate hate the thought of getting up early for school after a nice and relaxing weekend.
let's just recap on how school was like to me from the beginning of form six till now, shall we?

month 1: may

OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH!!!
it's already may!!!
school's starting!
i was placed in bukit bintang boy school (bbbs), and you could NOT imagine how i felt when i saw the application letter.
all boy school.
shiiit.
most of you in penang would know i have absolutely NO social skills when it comes to communicating with guys, and i thought, "hmmm, this is gonna be damn tough for me."

on my first day, i stuck with the girls from assunta, and i stared around wide-eyed at the new environment i was in. (no, not at the guys, at the ENVIRONMENT. capeesh?!)
really felt like the katak di bawah tempurung that JUST got OUT of the tempurung for a nice walk at the park. =/
my goodness, the first thing that came to my mind was, "how many flight of stairs does this school have???" XD
i was definitely NOT in good shape.
after nearly 5 months of holiday-ing...
well, you get the idea lah.
i was a rotting piece of _____. (fill in the blank. knock yourselves out, people. =S)

first time in my life i've seen more guys than girls in a school. (was from a co-ed school at first, then all-girl school all the way till form five)

the level of wonder: 8/10. (gotta admit, school was fun, and i actually looked forward to it)

month 2: june

got acquainted with my classmates and other lower six students.
as you can obviously see, i don't mingle with the seniors, because i have this serious social problem that subjects me to doing so.
i feel like they're the superior species, and i'm the super-inferior one. =X
and its like i have no authority to talk to them.
what the hell is wrong with me lah, LOL.

i'm a girl of few very words when it comes to socialising.
i just can't do it.
is it a disease or something?
because if it is, then i'm a social-killer. X)
hahahaha.
but i'm alright about it now.
so i guess it's okay.

anyway, a small piece of info here.
the first guy friend i EVER made in school was my "chee mui"!
LOL.
he's a great guy okay.
makes me feel a lot more comfortable being in school with a bunch of guys that i don't know. XP

whew!
hectic month!
studies were building up, and we're just getting used to the school's system an environment.

getting to know more people, and hey, guess it wasn't so bad after all.
BUT, a little social-illness is still here, and it's here to stay. X)
however, lepak-ing in malls have been very frequent every week with my classmates, and i can't seem to find out why.

studies weren't so stressful YET, but i'm trying my best.
i could give more, but you know me, i enjoy procrastinating.
must repent. XP

everyone was busy preparing for orientation night, possibly one of the biggest event in our form six lives.
it's like having prom night.

month 4: august

a rather slow month i should say.
things were going on well, except for the rough patches we all had to go through lah.

first of all, my condolences to mrs steve irwin for the death of her husband.
may he rest in peace and his enthusiasm for animals live in the hearts of other people. =)

my sister told me about this tragedy.
according to the reports, that was only the third death by stingray.
that is sooo sad.
poor guy, he got the sting right at his heart.
at least he died doing something he loved.

once, there's this girl, A, who was very happy with her boyfriend, M.
however, behind the shades of her happiness, there were hints of cracks and tiny imperfections in their relationship, and A could tell it would end one day.
M saw it the other way round.
he was only picking up the pieces and slowly arranging them orderly, putting a lot of hope in their relationship...
only to find it torn to pieces.
of course, he wanted her to stay, he wanted to forgive her, he wanted to start all over again with her.
he really loved her.
she knows he does.
and she loved him just as much.
so why did she build him up, then tear him apart?
no, she didn't do it on purpose, she didn't even want to hurt him in the first place.
A knew she has promises made to M that has to be kept.
she knew he was someone worth spending her life with, because she knew M would love her unconditionally.
but she felt it was better to walk away now than to walk away later.
the tiny cracks seems to grow longer as time ticks by.
if she doesn't leave now, the scars in her heart and M's would remain on forever, without any hope to recover.

there were two other men in her life.
two wonderful men, and they both meant just as much to A, like how M is.
E and N.
N was always there for her when she needed someone to talk to, and he seem to understand her more and sincerely cared for her.
E on the other hand, caught A's eyes when she first met him.
she never dream of getting to know him, let alone get close to him.
he was sweet, and he has a way with her.
fate takes a twist when she fell for E.
and the twist became 360 degrees (okay, that was lame XD) when E confessed that he felt the same.
he was the one who filled and mended the scar in A's heart.

when M wasn't there for her, E and N was.
although she love E and N as friends, she would love to love them more than that, because and she she felt indebted and wants to repay their kindness for putting up with her.

now, A loves E as her boyfriend, and N as her brother.
she was really happy to know them both, and they mean the world to her.
although she was happy with E, M was still after her, calling her to go back to his arms.
for an example.
he sent her nine messages:

sms 1: feel
sms 2: like
sms 3: i
sms 4: miss
sms 5: you
sms 6: so
sms 7: so
sms 8: so
sms 9: much

she did feel really upset for hurting M, but she knew it wouldn't help him in any way, especially if she goes back to him out of pity.
she loves E , and she wants to remain faithful to him.
who wouldn't want to be faithful to someone who loves you a lot, sincere about his feelings and know how to treat you with respect???
A rested her case.
she remained firm and cold towards M, ignoring M's every effort.

*presses PAUSE button*

note to readers: believe me, it hurts her more to do it than it hurts him. it's a damn ugly role to play in a relationship, and it certainly doesn't help to know you have to play it. pity.

*presses PLAY button*

fate takes another twist when she realized today (yes, "today" as in, TODAY, 06.09.2006) that her relationship with E was NO WHERE near her relationship with M.
she had this really weird feeling inside of her.
thinking it's just her fretting too much, she let it slip at the beginning, but the awkward feeling grew with time.
she didn't feel close to E, not to the extend of really knowing someone when you're in love.
surprisingly, she wasn't the only one who saw it that way.
one of A's closest friend noticed the same awkwardness, and brought up something else new.
A's friend noticed she's A LOT closer to N compared to E, and she looked very comfortable and warm with him.
as opposed to E, whenever A's with him, she was quiet, and she didn't really know how to relate to him.
she couldn't be herself no matter how hard she tried.

*presses PAUSE button*

note to readers: now that's very very very sad okaaaaay. can you imagine, you feel more comfortable with your friend than your own boyfriend. imagine the guilt that'll pile on you. if you're in her shoes, how would you feel? and more importantly, how would her boyfriend feel if he finds out? unless of course, this is no big deal to him lah. =)

to A's horror, she realized what her friend brought up was true.
she didn't really notice it before, but now she knew.
so now, a new problem arose...
now she feels awkward around N.
everytime he's close to her, she felt this, fluttery feeling in her stomach.

*presses PAUSE button*

note to readers: no, it's not like she's interested in him... is she? O_o" choi choi choi... oh my goodness... -_-" this is a horrible situation to be in, ladies and gentlemen...!

*presses PLAY button*

she just didn't know what to do; how to talk to him, what not to talk to him, what secrets to let him know, etc.
but she's very sure to only love N as a brother, and nothing more.

*playback STOPS*

the story ended there.
my friend refused to continue with her story (cis cis cis), but instead, she asked:

"if you were in A's shoes, what would you do so you can feel at ease with your boyfriend? and what would you do to show N you still care for him but only as a brother and your boyfriend worries nothing of it? and what would you do with M if he refuses to leave you?"

ahhh, the possibilities.
incidently, i hate playing these games.
i hate putting myself in other people's shoes, thinking of ways to solve the equations that has nothing to do with me, and dah lah my math so bad edi. -_-"
i hate it even more when her story is almost like my own.
only, mine isn't so cham lah. XP

and of course, knowing me, i came up with no solution to that at all. XD
which left my friend fuming lah... (sorry... it's just not the time lah...)
i don't want to be involved when it comes to finding solutions to people's problems.
i'd like to help, but i don't want to risk getting other people hurt in the process, especially people i love.

sometimes, having a creative mind that thinks "out of the box" doesn't help us get out of deep shit. XP
it's actually the process of getting into it that counts. (oh god, that sounds SOOO WRONG... getting into deep shi... uh... nevermind. XD)
even if its an experience that hurt and didn't go the way you wanted it to.
every little thing you go through in life counts in shaping who you were in the past, who you are now, and who you're going to be in the future.

so just bear with it, you can get through it.
you won't die.
